From November 2009 through June 2011 Churchville Avenue from Albemarle Avenue to Augusta Street will be closed eastbound. It will remain open westbound. If you need to get to Augusta Street after a rehearsal or concert, there is a quick bypass way to get there through some side streets.  On the map below the star is at the band room.  The closure is on the section between the "Y" in front of the band room and the intersection with North Augusta Street.

From the park entrance go left on Churchville Avenue, and just before you get to the stoplight at the curve in the road by the playground, turn right on Arlington Street at the Church of Christ.  Follow this to Burwell Avenue and turn left on Burwell.  This curves to the right and becomes Frazier Street.  Follow this to High Street, turn right, and then bear left on Oakenwold Street.  This brings you behind the Staunton Public Library onto North Augusta Street.

If you just want to get to I-81 South the best thing is to turn right on Thornrose, follow this to West Beverley, turn right and go to the "loop", turn left and follow it to I-81. 

If you just want to get to I-81 North, the best thing is to turn left on Churchville Avenue, follow it to the "loop" and turn right on the loop following it to I-81.
